Chapter 1.7 - ...And it all went downhill from there...

...And it all went downhill from there...
Warning: Language, Running Around in Undies & Skinny Dipping

Mackenzie rolled out of bed, grabbing her aching head.  Okay, so maybe I drank too much last night, she thought.  Her mood wasn't much better this morning.
She padded into the dining room, wincing against the light from the open breezeway.  Maybe she'd go to some other hotspot tonight, she thought sullenly.  It wasn't like she had anything better to do today on her day off.  Not like anyone had called her last night like he'd promised...

"Fuck!" she swore silently, folding the paper up. "This is why I don't do relationships!"
Just then, a child snickered behind her.  She glanced over her shoulder at the little boy.

"Get outta here, kid!" she yelled, shooing him away.

The newspaper boy's mouth dropped open and he dropped the paper and ran.
Bet he got an eyeful, she sulked.  This day was going downhill... and it was still early!
With nothing else to do, she started cleaning everything around the house.
"God, this place is filthy!" she complained, disgusted.  No matter how hard she scrubbed, those damn hard water stains would not come out of the toilet.  And all the metal in the house was rusted with age.  She had to let the shower run for a few minutes until the water ran clear.
"I hate it here!" she growled, throwing the sponge down in the sink.

Throwing on the exercise clothes Breandan had left her, she slid her boots on and took off for a jog to clear her mind.  She had to get out of the house or she was going to go crazy!
As she jogged by the park, she thought about Breandan and how romantic and attentive he'd been on Leisure Day.  Gritting her teeth, she continued on.  She didn't need him anyways, she argued with herself, desperately ignoring the part of her that wanted to break down and call him.
Ah, the Practice Pit. The perfect place to work off some steam!  she thought as she jogged up.
Heading into the exercise room, she warmed up and then did some cardio exercises.
She'd started jogging home when she passed by the glistening pool.  The water looked so inviting after she'd worked up such a sweat.
She stopped and looked down at the water.

Fuck it, she thought, you only live once!
She quickly shed her clothes and jumped in.  "Oh, that feels so good!" she said as she tread the water.
She lazily swam back and forth a few times, enjoying her rebellious skinny-dipping.  Sighing, she realized it was probably time to head back home.  It was broad daylight and she didn't want to push her luck.

She started back towards the edge of the pool where her clothes were.
Uh-oh, she thought.  Looks like trouble.

She glanced up at a scowling Breandan.  "Umm, do you mind?" she asked.  "You're stepping on my clothes."

"I wouldn't be stepping on them if they were on your body," Breandan snapped.

Mackenzie was taken aback. Wow. He was really mad!

"Do you mind?" she asked snidely, motioning for him to turn around. "I'm going to get out now."

His nostrils flared as he took in a deep breath as he turned around.  Aw, how cute, was his eye twitching? she thought as she hopped out of the pool and hurriedly pulled on her overalls.
She was snapping the last button when she told his rigid back, "You can turn around now," she said.  "Did you like what you saw?" she taunted him, feeling a little unsure about where she stood right now.  Go down swinging.
Breandan whirled around.  "I can't believe you would do something like this!  So... So.... IRRESPONSIBLE!" he shouted, raising his arms in the air.

"Oh, calm down. Nobody saw me but you!" she shot back.

"Why do you think I'm here?" he demanded angrily.  "Someone called to report someone skinny dipping at the Practice Pit!"  He shook his head. "I can't protect you if you insist on acting so inappropriately!"

He turned and walked away.
"Yeah! Well maybe I don't need your protection!" she yelled as his retreating back.
With tears in her eyes, she turned around and blindly ran home.
Halfway there, she stopped as the skies opened up on her.  "You've got to be fucking kidding me!" she yelled.
Breaking into a sprint, she hurried to the safety of home.
"Good going, Mac. Way to fuck everything up," she said to herself.  Leave it to her to muck it all up.
"Well, look on the bright side. It's not like today can get any worse."
Her phone started ringing.  Pushing the talk button, she shouted into the phone before Breandan could say anything. "I told you that I didn't need you!"
The caller cleared their throat, "Hello? Mackenzie? This is Lieutenant MacAnna," she said, giving Mackenzie a moment to compose herself.  "I'd like to see you in my office tomorrow."

Mackenzie gulped.  "Yes ma'am."

Wishes Completed- Improve Athletic Skill, Opportunity (workout using stereo/tv, jog and swim for 30 minutes), Workout until Fatigued, Buy Something Worth $250 (stereo)

Wishes Pending- Get married

Wishes Skipped- Go to a hotspot (She read the paper, but it didn't list a hotspot - not sure if I set up the bar correctly), Have a drink at 2 different bars (Meh, bars are not working! No bartenders or patrons!)

*AN- I didn't get any wishes to invite Breandan over or talk to him.  I had Mac jog down to the Practice Pit and he was there with his brother.  I manipulated the skinny dipping and moved Breandan over next to her.  But, he didn't say anything to her. He just walked back inside to talk to Marian Hooley.  DOH!  And then she really did get a call from her boss, Shannon MacAnna, to chat.

Things are not looking so hot for her right now!  Especially since Story Progression alerted me to the fact that Breandan went to meet with Mary Moloney for a romance!  That floozy!  Who is Mary Moloney, you ask?  Only the chick that's been scoping out Breandan like crazy the whole game! In my mind, she's the receptionist that got fired. :)  Lol.

  1. Uh oh! I hope Mackenzie can nab Breandan before that floozy does.
She was a floozy in my game, too, if I remember correctly. I had a wishacy in DV ages ago, and I think I remember her always making trouble at my parties.

    1. Lol. Mackenzie's on to her and she's not going down without a fight!
